A Conversation With Lawrence Koh

Founder and CEO of International Diversified Products

Biography

Lawrence Koh is one of the seminal thought leaders at Conscious Capitalism and on the Advisory Council of the Conscious Leadership Connection. Koh is the founder of The UTOPIA Project, which seeks to relieve the effects of poverty by creating jobs opportunities to manufacture and distribute UTOPIA-branded products worldwide. Profits from the Project are used to provide food, clothing, shelter, clean water, education, personal development programs, and skill training to those in need.

He also founded the Students for a Better Tomorrow Foundation (SBT), which mentors youth in relationship-building and entrepreneurial business skills. In 2003 he received the America’s Promise–Marketable Skills Award for his work in empowering teens.

He is the founder and CEO of International Diversified Products (IDP). Established in 1987, IDP is built on Lawrence’s commitment to a relationship-centered approach to business and is a natural legacy of his decades of work as a motivational speaker and personal development facilitator. 

Greatest Accomplishments:

  • Started my first company, a fashion belt manufacturing company, at age 20. It grew from cutting those belts on my ping pong table to an average production of 550,000 belts monthly.
  • Facilitated and designed personal growth trainings and retreats for Summit Workshops and Visions, LLC for more than 30 years.
  • Started Students for a Better Tomorrow – a non-profit experiential afterschool program that mentored at-risk teens and taught them about business. This qualified me to be awarded with the America’s Promise Award for Imparting Marketable Skills to Youth.
  • A motivational speaker and youth advocate public speaker for 25 years.
  • An active participant and speaker for Conscious Capitalism, Conscious Leadership Connection and the Conscious Leadership Network.
  • Started and own International Diversified Products – a product and technology-development firm.
