A Conversation With Donald Stamets

Donald Stamets, Area Managing Director, Omni Hotels

Biography

Donald Stamets is currently Area Managing Director, Omni Hotels. Donald has over 27 years in the hospitality industry. Prior to his 3 successful years with Omni where he over sees 4 hotels/resorts including, Hilton Head, Jacksonville, Orlando and Amelia Island, Donald was most recently with the Irvine Company where he served as general manager of the Island Hotel and resident manager of The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach California. Also in Newport Beach, Donald was on the board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce where he served as Chairman in the year prior of him moving back to Amelia Island.

Previously, Donald was with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for 15 years, where he held executive positions for multiple properties, including Palm Beach, South Beach, Orlando Grande Lakes and here on Amelia Island. He is a hospitality management graduate of Johnson & Wales University.

Donald is very active in the community currently serving on several Boards including the TDC, The Chamber (where he is currently the chairman) The Nassau County Economic Development Board, The Amelia Island Club, The Amelia Island Plantation Community Association.
